Personal Residence 1.

This is a 1200 square foot, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit in the historic Westgate Tower, one of the first residential towers in downtown Austin located directly across the street from the state capital.  It is the work of renowned Architect, Edward Durell Stone and was completed in 1968

The unit was extensively remodeled in 2008 and was used only as a weekend home on a few occasions by the previous owner.

Though the apartment is meticulously outfitted, Chad made several modifications to update the interior.  These include the removal of faux finish wall and ceiling accents, installation of grass cloth wallcovering on the exterior walls, decorative niche trim treatments and replacement of every light fixture in the unit,

Chad and his partner are in the process of building a country residence in Praha, Texas so all existing furniture and decor was placed in storage to be directed to the new home.  With that, this unit had to be fully furnished and decorated in a very expeditious manner, so every piece of furniture was procured from the "in stock" collections of multiple retailers and was substantially complete in under two months.

Personal Residence 2.

This is an 1800 square foot, 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house in an established neighborhood in North Austin, built in 1973.

The house was purchased in 2015 by Chad and his partner, Anthony and though the home had just recently been "flipped", every surface of this house was meticulously revised.  Additions included new walnut hardwood flooring and porcelain in kitchen/dining, grasscloth wallcovering in the dining room, new light fixtures throughout, all new paint, fully renovated bathrooms complete with walnut vanities designed by Chad and crafted by Mockingbird Made in Buda, TX.

Furnishings and decor were a collection of cherished family heirlooms, amazing vintage finds and new modern pieces.  Color was definitely present in this home and was inspired by the 50's, 60's and 70's eras that the bones of this house radiated as well as the resort like backyard.

It was a tremendously comfortable but stylish home and was published in Austin Monthly as well as Apartment Therapy

Work with Amity Worrel & Co.

Shortly after arriving in Austin, Chad had the privilege of meeting Amity Worrel, an Austin native who had recently moved back home from NYC.  There was an immediate connection and shortly thereafter, Chad began working with Amity on her budding new design firm.  For a period of time, Chad worked with Amity nearly full time and was exposed to her tremendous talent and the experience and knowledge she had attained while working for some of the most notable designers and clients in New York.

Amity was able to inspire, nurture and refine Chad's eye toward the practice of residential design and it sparked an interest in him that he is excited to once again, bring to the forefront of his future.

The following work was completed while a member of Amity's team and while all work was a collaborative effort, highlights of Chad's particular contributions are noted with each image.

about.

about.

Chad was born and raised in Pennsylvania.  Growing up among the mountains of northern PA and then the rolling pastures and farmland of Lancaster, he appreciates the beautiful natural environments around him.  The views, sounds, smells, tastes, and textures had and continue to have a profound impact on Chad's creative inspiration.

He received his BA in Interior Design from Marymount University in Arlington, VA and from there went on to work for such esteemed firms as TVS Design in Atlanta and eventually joined the in-house store design teams for Kenneth Cole and Victoria's Secret.

In 2010, Chad and partner, Anthony made the decision to move to Austin to fulfill an Entreprenurial dream and open Lick Honest Ice Creams, a farm to scoop ice cream company.  While Anthony perfected the product, Chad created the branding elements, scoop shop environments and operational procedures.  The company has grown to six locations between Austin and San Antonio with several in the works in the Houston market, over 125 wholesale accounts and ships nationwide.  Lick Honest Ice Creams has garnered national accolades and has established itself as one of the most recognized ice cream brands in the business.

As Chad has been able to step away from the day-to-day operations at Lick, he is resuming his passion of creating spaces that satisfy all of our senses.  Chad pays keen attention to every visual detail, tactile surface, scent, sound and even the food that is accessible to present environments we as humans feel content, comfortable and inspired in.
